From Hong Kong to Oakland, my journey in art education has been filled with unforgettable moments. In Hong Kong, I organized a mixed-media storybook project with children who are hearing-impaired. They used colors and tactile sensations to capture artistic details—combining paper, fabric, and textures into their own language. Each page carried expressions that went far beyond words. Later in Oakland, I guided young learners to explore the city’s graffiti culture and encouraged them to create their own visions of a “dragon.” Each dragon reflected both the power of tradition and the freedom of street art. These experiences convinced me that art is not only a skill, but also a universal language that connects people, cultures, and imagination.
